So apparently it's been a little while since I've posted. Skye's kept me pretty busy, but I couldn't be happier...she's loads of fun. A very happy baby all-around. She's now 9 1/2 months, has 8 teeth, crawls, and is learning to stand.

These span about the last 6 months...I apologize :) The very last one was taken last weekend though, so that's kinda recent. Sorry that they're huge.

This was taken Christmas Day...she put herself down for her morning nap. Apparently playing with her frogs was a bit tiring.

I'd like to proudly introduce our daughter, Skye Kathleen.
She was born Monday the 9th at 10:28 pm, weighing 6 lbs 10 oz and is 20 1/2 inches long.

And of course, in our completely unbiased opinions, she is absolutely beautiful.

Yes, I'm about "ready to pop" :)

I'm at 38 weeks...baby's due date is June 18.
Since this is my first, I'm expecting it'll probably be late...first babies tend to take their time. I'm pretty much just playing the waiting game.
I get measured tomorrow for the first time, so that will probably give me an idea of how much longer I can count on being big. All I know right now is that it has been head-down for the last month or so, so that's lined up and well.
I do love how I'm carrying...I don't know if this will go for possible future pregnancy/ies, but you can't tell I'm pregnant from the back. This baby is all out in front, and high. I seriously do look like I shoved a basketball under my shirt. I only feel that I look "huge" in certain shirts, and from a side view. And I've only gained 19 pounds :D
I feel worst for the baby...that poor little (Big!) thing is really out of room. I've stopped growing. It used to be that if you wanted to put a hand on my tummy in hopes of feeling the baby, you really had to be lucky. Psssh, it's always sticking out now. It still likes going up into my ribs, and just recently learned how to stick its knee/foot (?) between them, which is not exactly pleasant.

I will of course post when there's news (i.e., baby pics). For most of you, this is the only way we communicate, so I can't leave you guys in the dark now can I?

I'm so proud I have to tell somebody, and well, no one's going to care so I figured I'd just inflate my ego by putting this online and being able to look at it later.

I've always been kinda good at Wheel of Fortune; my favorite challenge is to try to beat the contestants. I don't watch it very often--I'm not that big of a nerd. Last night, I was in rare form. My pride and joy:

Almost done with the first trimester, thank god. We got to hear the heartbeat on Thursday, and discover that I am the proud mama of a choo-choo train. It was pretty cool...I wanted to record it.

Oh yeah, the answer was "the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace." I seriously need to get my ass on that show. I could use the money. Even losing and going home with 20 grand is cool with me.

In other news, for those of you who knew that I was on and wanted to get off, I got permission from Ben. You know what that could mean. *wiggles eyebrows*

I KILLED my right pinkie toe this morning. That I wish I could post. I've stubbed that same toe every day this week, but this morning did it in. I caught the door jamb to the bathroom, splitting my pinkie toe off from the rest...meaning I had four toes technically in the bathroom and one pointed right at the wall. Not only is it swollen, it has the nastiest angriest blue-purple-red bruise on it...worst part is on the side that can barely be seen cuz it's in between my toes. Looks like I stepped in paint and it squished up between my toes. and then a lighter shade of purple that looks like a toe ring. Literally goes all the way around all neat and concise like. Don't think I broke it, but even if I did it's not like it can be fixed. So now I have to figure out what shoes to wear to work since the only open toed shoes I have are flip-flops and my boss isn't too huge on that. Plus it's getting a little cold for that.

I had an experience today that reminds me of something that would happen to psycho_ash. Bought girlie supplies at Meijer and went through the Jew-scan. Tampons and maxis, that's it. $11.00 even. The dumb thing spits me out a coupon for $1.50 off of Kikkoman soy sauce. What kind of targeting is that?! I understand that if I buy Minute Maid lemonade or Hot Pockets, I get coupons for more of those products, respectively. I can see the sloganeers now: Bleeding women love Asian food! Sodium-rich soy sauce satisfies cravings like no other! Seriously. Although, at least I got a coupon for the brand name sauce. Every Chinese restaurant in GR proudly flaunts the label if they've got Kikkoman. Don't see a bottle with a label? That little shaker with the orange top instead? Read what that orange top says. Oh yeah.

~The Commando is starting to live up to her name...somehow when I get home from work I'm too lazy to change everything and stuff just doesn't get put back on. If you really want a peep show, I'll look for the lawn chairs in the church parking lot. First thing I do when I get home is water my plants, so stay tuned.

~To discourage you perverts, in my quest to be thinner I have dropped a little over 7 lbs in just over a month. And 3 inches. In my bra. My waistline and hips remain unchanged. Why can't I just pick where this stuff leaves from?! That new bra I wrote about? Yeah, it no longer fits. Wore it a grand total of like 3 times. However...I suppose if you work hard enough to see through the trees which balcony is mine, you can see my pasty dough-boy body in panties. Or um...not much else.

~I don't know what it is I have against this church behind us, maybe just that it's obnoxiously huge. But I like to rebel against it at every turn, naked plant watering, the Communist flag prominently displayed so that if they do look hard at our apartment (which really can only be seen well through binocs) that's all they see, etc. I plan on inviting Ben's friends over to play with fire in the parking lot sometime.

Ladies, from what you know about me, you're probably not surprised to hear that I'm not big on Vickie's Secret. But have you ever gone there trying to give it another chance, despite it being horrendously pink and stinky, and getting bitched out because your boobs are too big?! I didn't think so.

Back story:
Well I suppose forward story too, as this concerns a future event. Ben's cousin is getting married this weekend (7/7/07...awww. /end sarcasm). So we went shopping. Every store I go to, I encounter the same problem: my monstrous bongos make the rest of me look that size all the way down. Not so hot...I look chunky as it is, I don't need anymore help with that. Last ditch effort, I go in a small store in the mall and let two over-energetic high-schoolers have their way with me. Which surprisingly worked, and rather than going postal I feel slightly better. After trying on like seven dresses of varying lengths, color, and styles, I emerged with a cute little brown number that's knee-length (I know, shortest ever for me), has spaghetti straps, and is one of those designed to cover half of your boobs so you look like you have cleavage (in dress-savvy people terms, an empire). Since I already have cleavage this further enhances it, and Ben was relieved that his jeans hid his excitement. I've been trying to wear the dress around the apartment now, in hopes that he'll get used to it...his dress pants won't be as forgiving this weekend. Boner around the fam = not hot.
I even found some cute dark brown fake-croc skin heels to go with it at Payless.

So anyhoo, we venture to Victoria's Secret, my wonderful husband willing to brave the hideousness that is everything girly and pink to help me dig through strapless bras. This salesgirl runs up to me, asking if she can help me find a size. I mention what I'm looking for, and before I'm even finished she's already got her measuring tape around me, and announces that I am a 38DD. Yeah right!!! I've been with these girls for a while, and let me tell you, it's not them. It's my band size (i.e., chunky-ness) that makes them look big. So she sends me into the dressing room with a bra that I already know a) will be too tight, b) I won't fill out, and c) has cups big enough to cover my butt-cheeks.
Sure enough, the damn thing is tight. I'm one of those un-coordinated girls who connects her bra in front where she can see the hooks and eyelets, then slides it around. I couldn't even make the thing budge until I yanked it hard, hurting myself in the process.
I come out, of course she wants to know how it fits. I tell her the band is too small. She asks if I tried it with the straps, because the straps yank the band up and make it tighter. <---(what kind of crap is that?!) Well I tried it both ways, and I'm telling you, it's tight (you bee-yotch). She snaps, "well I don't know what's wrong, cuz I'm telling you that you don't measure above a 38." When I ask her for a bigger band size, I get this response: "we don't sell strapless in anything bigger than a 38", and she yanks the bra away from me and stomps away. Hello, can we say rude? The only reason I didn't bitch to the manager about her was because they would've tried to still sell me something, and if there's no strapless bras above a 38, then forget it.
Screw you bitches, I'm going commando.

I had to really search, but I'm pretty sure Chris Meloni (Stabler) is billed before Mariska Hargitay (Benson) so that's him versus Hugh Laurie (House). I think I'd go for House, cuz although he's not crippled in real life, I'm not convinced that he's very strong...Chris Meloni's built.

I don't think I would...they're currently in the order where the two big guys (gideon and hotchner)are first, then the other agents in the middle, with j.j. and garcia at the end cuz they're not as big roles.

eric82683 got me thinking about what it was like those first few years of college. the good ol days. Because of this, I just signed on to MSN Messenger and AIM for the first time in over two years. Weird. Dunno why, or what I'm expecting, as I either don't remember who all my contacts are/were and nobody's online anyways.
Weird how far people travel when you lose touch.
I've been thinking a lot about my freshman year of college, and about the members of a group I used to hang out with. I miss the way things were.
Oddly enough, this includes reminiscing about how Ben and I used to be. Don't get me wrong, I love being married, but I miss our late-night walks around campus. Chain-smoking to stay warm on the trek from Nerdmeyer to Laker Village. Riding the pendulum with Tim.
I remember the weirdest, most random things.

1. I've recently discovered I'm a beer snob. I have standards; I will not drink lite or light-colored beer. Lite beer is for people who don't like the taste of beer but like to piss a lot.
2. I'm scared of being lost. I must know where I am at all times, or at least have a good idea of where I am. Hence the reason I'm fairly good with directions.
3. I don't like being alone at night. Too dark, too scary, too many suggestive horror films? I don't watch horror films for this reason.
4. I collect different editions of Monopoly games.
5. I'm convinced that my car is going to spontaneously combust whenever I'm inside it. Well, with my track record, it makes sense.
6. I love Christmas lights. The old ones with the big bulbs are the sweetest. If I had my way, I'd keep em up year-round. My bedroom at home growing up featured them running around the perimeter of my room, and I had red lightbulbs in my lamps and overhead light. 'member that Seinfeld episode when the resteraunt opens across the street from Kramer's apartment? Ohhhh yeah.
